Anna will discuss your project aims with you to determine the most suitable survey methods. Fees and methodologies are set to facilitate landscape-scale bird surveys - several recent surveys have covered sites of over 1000ha.

Surveys could be a comprehensive territory mapping exercise, breeding bird transects, winter bird transects, a simple species list, species-specific surveys, nest finding (e.g. ahead of forestry work or drilling) or ringing studies. Surveys will usually follow established BTO methodology such as the Common Bird Census, the Breeding Bird Survey, the English Winter Bird Survey and the Nest Record Scheme.
As an alternative to a formal survey, Anna can take clients on identification walks around their sites to show them what species are present and help improve their identification skills.
Anna has a wide range of experience advising Cotswold landowners on habitat management for birds, nest box placement, appropriate environmental land management options for a particular site or species, as well as available grants for conservation work.
Anna is also an experienced botanist - please get in touch if you would like to arrange
Anna has a wide range of experience advising Cotswold landowners on habitat management for birds, nest box placement, appropriate environmental land management options for a particular site or species, as well as available grants for conservation work.
Anna is also an experienced botanist - please get in touch if you would like to arrange any botanical surveys (including UKHab, NVC, priority habitat etc.).
All survey results will be presented in a summary report, with recommendations where appropriate.
Anna also has experience designing long-term monitoring programmes (for example, annual breeding and winter bird surveys for the Sapperton Wilder project), and for this kind of survey would typically produce an annual report analysing the data collected that year and looking at year on year changes.
